Super Bowl 49 Player Profile : Rob Gronkowski

Since Tom Brady‘s dominance in the NFL , It has always been said that The New England Patriots go as Brady goes. Meaning if Brady plays poorly one game , the rest of the team usually would too. But now we might be seeing a different Patriots player play that role. Rob Gronkowski. 

As Rob Gronkowski was entering his 5th Season as an NFL Tight End this season , many questions came up. “Will Gronk stay healthy all season?” , “Will he play at the same level that he played at in previous years?”Questions like these would be thrown at Gronkowski until week 5 (which of course is the week where New England turned their season around and crushed the Cincinnati Bengals after being crushed by the Kansas City Chiefs in week 4). Well after week 5 , the noise in New England silenced , and the Patriots got their groove going , winning 7 games in a row , with a big part of that from GRONK. In those seven games , Rob had 6 Receiving TD’s , but more impressively he had six games in those seven with at least 70+ receiving yards , and the one game without 70+ , he had 68 yards , not bad big fella. And after those seven games , in the next three games Gronk had two touchdown catches , and had the following total of yards :

• Week 12 at Green Bay : 7 catches , 98 receiving yards
• Week 13 at San Diego : 8 catches , 87 receiving yards , 1 TD
• Week 14 vs Miami : only 3 catches … but 96 receiving yards and 1 TD

Pretty impressive numbers for a tight end.The Patriots won 2/3 of those games I might add.

So what’s the point of this article you may be asking?Just to show how big of a weapon Gronkowski can and will be for New England on Super Bowl Sunday. When healthy , Rob Gronkowski is without a doubt the best Tight End in the NFL today.Better than Graham , Fleener , Olsen , Gates , Davis , you name it , GRONK’s just better. The way he drags defenders on his back , and somehow pushes them off and breaks free for a TD is beyond me. And lets be honest , we all love seeing Brady throw to Gronk for six points and watching him spike the ball into the end zone.

If Seattle can’t contain GRONK this Sunday , I see New England winning the big game. I also see Rob Gronkowski as the Super Bowl 49 Most Valuable Player , with a stat line of :

6 catches , 84 receiving yards , and 1 TD.

Super Bowl 49 Player Profile : Marshawn Lynch

Why Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch can say and do what he wants.

It’s nothing new , if you know who Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is , than you probably know that he doesn’t really care what anybody thinks about him. Not his teammates , not Pete Carroll , and especially not the media that surrounds the Sports World.

Lynch has done it all , from his outrageous clothes desicions , to his “press conferences”  , which have quotations around them because in all honesty he rarely says anything good at all. Lynch walks and talks like he’s all that. When really … he kinda is.

The Seattle Seahawks offense heavily depends on the tough and beastly runnig of Marshawn Lynch. They do have Athletic Quarterback Russell Wilson who has come up big when he has needed to , but when they needed something huge , they just simply hand the ball to #24. And it seems to ALWAYS work! So many times do we see Lynch shrug off defenders like it’s nothing , dragging them for yards until they let go and watch him carry the ball for more yards , diving into the endzone for 6 points.

Yes Lynch has stirred things up throughout his career , but you can’t question the man’s talent. After SB49 , no one really knows what Marshawn will do , word is that he’ll either play for some other team , or call his NFl Career quits. Well whatever BEASTMODE decides to do , he has the right to do it. He has proved his talent time after time , carry after carry , catch after catch , game after game , season after season.

My Super Bowl 49 Stat line Prediction for Lynch :

92 rushing yards , 1 TD , sorry Marshawn.

My thoughts : If Seattle wins , Lynch will retire a 2 time Super Bowl champion. If they lose however , I could see him playing again , but in a different jersey.

Should be interesting to see how Lynch plays on Sunday , and to see what happens next in the chapters of the man we know as BEASTMODE. 

Could it work? How will Victor Cruz and Odell Beckham Jr. work out in 2015?

It’s without a doubt in the world of fantasy football , football in general , that Giants rookie Wide Receiver Odell Beckham Jr. had one of the best seasons a rookie WR has ever had , and quite possibly one of the best rookie season performances by any NFL player … EVER. Odell made jaws across the world drop after every time a spectacular play was made by him , chances are if you had him in Fantasy Football (as I did) , then you won your league. The dude’s a monster , and has so much potential in his bright , young future. So he’ll be even better next year right?Maybe. No one actually knows , probably yes though. One key factor in Odell’s sophomore season is another Giants WR , you might know him , he goes by the name of Victor Cruz. Cruz has been the go-to guy for Eli Manning in previous years , so what will happen now?We’ve seen MANY WR duos work in NFL history , we’ve even seen tons in the 2014 season , here are some:

• Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders – Broncos
• Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb – Packers
• Steve Smith and Torrey Smith – Ravens
• Julio Jones and Roddy White – Falcons
• Pierre Garcon and Desean Jackson – Redskins
• Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery – Bears
• Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate III – Lions

And the list could keep going , now some of those guys weren’t really “Amazing” , and some even got injured during the season , but all of those duos have worked at sometime in 2014. Duos work so well , because now the defense has to worry about two good wide-outs who could at any time do damage , instead of one. This could work with the New York Giants too. Victor Cruz and Odell Beckham Jr. have a good chance to tear it up next season due to how WR duos have done in the past. So without further ado , here goes my first “Fantasy Football” rankings , I like to call it “A.B.’s EARLY 2015 WR duo rankings”. Enjoy!

Top 7 Fantasy WR Duo’s (as of 1/26/15)

 

 7. A.J Green and Mohamed Sanu – Bengals. Always thought Sanu would be pretty good eventually , and once Green became injured , he became the go to guy. With both guys healthy they could put up CRAZY numbers. 

 6. Antonio Brown and Martavius Bryant – Steelers. You can debate that Antonio Brown is one of the best Wide outs in the NFL , and if he plays like he did last season , well it should rub off on Bryant. Also think Big Ben has another good season too. 

 5.Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb – Packers. Green Bay blew one of the biggest games ever. That should spark this team up next season  , I expect it to start with the offense led by Aaron Rodgers , and the amazing duo of these two Pack WR’s 

 4. Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery – Bears. Because it’s still a mystery if Cutler plays for the Bears again , and we think New Head Coach John Fox will opt for a running game , these guys are ONLY at 4. Both incredible players , just don’t know enough yet.

 3. Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate III – Lions. We all know how beastly Johnson is , so lets talk about Tate. When Calvin was hurt , he really stepped up with a number of Touchdowns and 100+ yard game performances , we’ve also seen them work good together when they were both playing. 

 2. Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz – Giants. Two superstars , and I have a good feeling that Cruz returns pretty well. Also feel like Beckham will have an even better season next season. These two should work out fine together.

 1. Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders – Broncos. I think DT will return to Denver next season and from the sounds of it John Elway wants to throw the ball more with Peyton Manning (who is not done or washed up yet). Plus we already know just how dominant these two guys are alone , and especially together. I expect them to be great in 2015.

So there you have it , Early 2015 WR Duo Rankings. As the year gets closer , I’ll put tons of more rankings , because LOTS should happen from now until the next NFL season. A.B.

A.B. 2015 Super Bowl Prediction

Thought about it , and here it is. My Super Bowl 49 Predictions. 

On Sunday February 1st , Seattle and New England will face off to decide who the 2015 Super Bowl Champion is. This is strictly my predictions , so if you wish you leave your own please do so.

First off I believe this game will be as close as a chess match as we’ll possibbly ever see in Super Bowl history. You have two great QB’s in Tom Brady, and Russell Wilson , two great head coaches in Bill Belichick , and Pete Carroll , and of course the suffocating and tenascious defense of the Seattle Seahawks who are led by big hitting stars like Kam Chancellor , Earl Thomas , and of course , Richard Sherman , and you also got the always improving New England Patriots defense with players like Vince Wilfork , Chandler Jones , and Darrelle Revis. So here’s what I got.

It’s gonna be a close game for the whole game , I think both teams look to run the ball a lot , and at halftime , the game should be REALLY close. At HALFTIME , My prediction is : 13-10 , New England leads. Both teams defense’s will play at high levels , and the score will be low. Now the rest of the game will be a lot different.

I expect Brady to go to Gronk A LOT , and I expect him to be almost unstoppable. I think Gronk will have at least 1TD and 70+ receiving yards. However , I also think Russell Wilson , and Marshawn Lynch will play tough , and bottom line , with less than around two minutes left of the game , it’ll be tied 20-20 with the ball in Brady’s hands. The Pats offense will cooly and calmly march down the field , and with about 5 seconds left , will burn a timeout and send Stephen Gostowski out to nail a game winning field goal (of at least 40 yards) , which he will indeed nail. After this the confetti falls , and Belichick and Brady happily get that 4th ring they’ve been wanting for , for so long , and the Patriots finally get another championship.

Final Score : 23-20 New England wins.

Something for Nothing. Do the Patriots have something to prove in Super Bowl 49?

It’s been over ten years since Quarter Back Tom Brady and Head Coach Bill Belichick hoisted the Lombardi trophy after a New England Patriots Super Bowl Win. A lot has happened since those three Super Bowls , but nothing has really happened the way the Patriots would’ve wanted it to happen. But does the game matter that much to the two? Of course Tom and Bill want to win , as they’re two of the biggest competitors the NFL has ever seen , but think about what they have accomplished during the seasons After their last Super Bowl victory , up until Now.  

Tom and Bill have won 12 AFC East Divison titles during their time together , they set team records for wins , and up until last season , Brady led the NFL in single season passing TD’s.Belichick’s won Coach of the Year awards , Brady’s won League MVP’s , both have had their success. Since the 3 championships , They’ve been to 2 more Super Bowls in which they Should’ve won , but that’s a different story. Not to mention that one of those Super Bowl apperances was coming off of 18 straight wins. It seems that when the Pats fail to reach the Super Bowl , they come up only one or two games short. They’ve now been to 4 Consecutive AFC Championship Games , and have won 2 of them.

 On Sunday February 1st , Brady and Belichick have a chance to grab their 4th Super Bowl together. And they’ve earned it. Patriot haters will say this team Cheats to win … which is absolutely ridiculous. They play as a team , win as a team , and lose as a team. It starts with the class of team owner Robert Kraft and runs through the genius of Bill Belichick and his staff , and the many talents of stars like Rob Gronkowski , Julian Edelman , LaGerrentte Blount , Vince Wilfork ,  Devin McCourty , Chandler Jones , Brandon Browner , Darrelle Revis , and of course , Tom Brady. They don’t need to deflate footballs to win , the game was 45-7…. that tells you all you need to know. The team went 12-4 and was the #1 seed in the AFC this season , and have been one of the best teams EVERY SINGLE SEASON since Tom Brady and Bill Belichick came into the equation. 

Both men are obvious Future Hall of Famers , and hard working individuals who want to win more than anything. So In a way another ring wouldn’t be that big of a deal , but I really hope they get it. Because like them or not , The New England Patriots DESERVE to be the 2015 SUPER BOWL Champions. GO PATS!
